'... hints of Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave and Anna Calvi...she'd be right at home playing in some divey bar in Twin Peaks.'
Tom Robinson - BBC6 Music
I found music the way some people find God… in a state of existential suffering that demands either suicide or a clear path to salvation. My formative years were a harrowing descent into drug-fuelled insanity, violence and chaos. I sought order by literally drawing myself out of the chaos, creating an entire paper world with a box of crayons, scissors and glue. Then I discovered writing and chess. And later, I sought answers from reading philosophy.
I found redemption in a drum kit. Then a guitar. Then a piano. And finally… I dared to open my mouth and sing. Music is my salvation. As Nietzsche said: “ We have Art in order not to die of the Truth ”.
After playing drums and fronting bands for several years, I’ve spent the last 2 years studying music production in order to create the sonic world demanded by my growing artistic vision.
My first releases as EMBERHONEY were two singles 'Some Kind of Alchemy' & ‘Drop Everything and Love Me’ followed by the 'Smoke' EP and then the 'LIVE Honeytone Sessions' LP.
This year I’m creating a series self-recorded and produced singles and music videos for 'The Ghost in the Machine' release. Livestream dates will be announced soon followed by an EMBERHONEY UK tour is early 2021.
